17233 Stanshapiro (2000 DU58) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on February 29, 2000 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro. Named for Stanley Shapiro, the teacher-advisor of several Intel Science Talent Search finalists from Midwood High School at Brooklyn College.
